Hello again Innes,

Good news ! The loan will be possible, but we have to attach a few conditio=
ns.
Firstly, I will need to ask you to sign a loans out form, which effectively
makes you legally responsible for the objects' safekeeping. Also, for
conservation purposes we must ask that the objects are handled as little as
possible and when they are handled gloves are used. I'm sure that you will =
have
gloves but if you don't please tell me and I can arrange some. Similarly, we
also request that you are the only person to handle the objects since we kn=
ow
that you have had a great deal of experience certainly in handling archives,
unlike many others who may attend your meeting and be keen to get their han=
ds
on the plaques !

Sorry to attach all these conditions, but I am sure you understand the stri=
ct
conservation requirements in order to continue to preserve the objects for
years to come.

Could we arrange a time for you to collect the plaques and box on Fri 7th
November, and also a time for returning them on Monday 10th ? If it was
possible for you to return them on Saturday 8th that may be preferable -
although I wouldn't be in (I might be bashing somebody on the hockey pitch =
!!)
I could ask colleagues to take charge ?

Best wishes,
Fiona.

>The Master Fund Court of the Nine Trades meet in November, to decide on the
pensions for the following year.
>It is then traditional for them to adjourn for 'Division' (the handing our=

"Bridie Supper".
>Those present are the Deacons, Boxmasters and Clerks of the individual Tra=

>To get to the point, I would very much like to borrow the two foundation
plaques of the Trades Hall, together with the copper box in which they were
buried in the foundations in 1778 and after major restoration in the mid 18=
00's.
>They are in your safekeeping, but the I know that the Master Fund Court wo=

appreciate seeing them again.
>I am quite happy to take responsibility for them. The Dinner will be held =
on
Friday 7th November and I would propose to collect them on that day and ret=
urn
them to you on Monday 10th.
>I look forward to hearing from you.

> Aye

>P.S
>I have sent this a second time, as I have a terrible feeling that I may yet
again have got your address wrong. Senility is a terrible thing.
