 As ever Innes -

you shine a delightful light on what we are doing!=20

Thank you for the thoughts which correspond with the majority of comments =
made by the rest of the panel. Thank you also for your enthusiasm for No.1 =
Ange Taggart! We may give you a call early next week with some questions =
on the shortlist of artists we now have down to nine in number:

1. Ange Taggart
4. Chris Dyson
5. Clare Thornton
6. David Yu
7. Debbie Lawson (yes we want to get in the Observer but her work was =
excellent too!)
9. Kate Gilman Brundrett
10. Mark Brogan
14. Sam Curtis

Our procedure is we will give each of these candidates a phone with some =
questions, to help us whittle down to 6 from the 8.

You liked no.8 Elaine Allison - the panel thought it an interesting =
environment of sheltered housing. However she works in a similar way that =
artists tend to work with older people which is using reminiscence as a =
starting point. All thought it is a good route there are other ways to =
work with this age group that could prove more exciting! No. 9 the =
Business Advisor from Penrith - we thought a place like Claverhouse might =
be interesting as a trade to work within, which made her case more =
interesting. With No 14 Sam, the note of interest showed this candidate =
had been thoughtful about the balance between trade and artist - we will =
ask them further about 'video interventions'! =20

do you want to be present when we speak to the 'strip club' artist?!

Best wishes
Jenny and Laura
